Brenda Harrington is a Certified Leadership Coach and Leadership Development Consultant. She is the founder and principal of Adaptive Leadership Strategies, LLC, a firm offering human capital solutions to help top talent better adapt to change and transition. A key component of Adaptive Leadership’s coaching practice is focused on working with corporate transferees to better adapt to new responsibilities in new locations before, during and after relocation assignments, with a view toward maximizing the company’s relocation ROI. The firm also administers survey and assessment programs to facilitate 360 management evaluations and other employee lifecycle initiatives.

Prior to creating her company, Brenda was Executive Vice President of Legum & Norman, Inc., a Washington, DC area property management firm. In this role she was responsible for Human Resources, Accounting, Financial Management and Client Services. During her tenure, she also led the Company’s consulting team, working with builders throughout the pre-construction and development phase of new planned unit and mixed use communities.

With more than 30 years in the business domain, Brenda’s experience includes management positions with Mobil Oil Corporation and AT&T, as well as extensive experience with relocation and the development of relocation policy for domestic and international transferees. She has recently been featured in The New York Times and U.S. News and World Report as a subject matter expert on issues associated with relocation.

Brenda received her Certification for Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Adelphi University and a Master’s Degree from Virginia Tech’s Pamplin College of Business. She is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), credentialed as an ACC coach, and a Certified Relocation Professional (CRP) member of the Worldwide Employee Relocation Council. Additional affiliations include her membership on the Board of Directors for the Foundation for Community Association Research, the Virginia Tech Property Management Advisory Council and Royal Resorts Advisory Council.
