History and Organization

Our History

The COO Forum was founded in 2004 in the Greater San Francisco Bay/Silicon Valley Area by Bill Shepard, Executive Director.  The association has become the professional development home for Chief Operating Officers and Second-in-Command Executives.  The association recognizes the significant role the COO plays as the senior leader responsible for taking their company’s vision and delivering results.

As a result of the COO Forum’s continued success and growth in Northern California since its inception in 2004, the COO Forum initiative is to include COOs and Second-in-Command Executives worldwide.

Our Organization

Executive Director:  Bill Shepard – Responsible for orchestrating the various business development efforts, supporting Chapter Directors, press relations, and overall leadership, growth, and vision for the association.

Director of Chapter Development: Laura Weikle – Works with Executive Director to expand the COO Forum nationally. Manages new chapter launches and provides guidance and support to chapter directors in the early stages of chapter development. Responsible for chapter communications, website maintenance, COOeForum development, calendars, and oversees the membership needs of the association.

Chapter Directors:  Chapter Directors include individuals who lead local chapters.  These individuals are senior-level professionals who provide local area leadership. Click here for a list of all chapter directors and locations.
